日本人對於發明電子產品著實犀利，我們今天的家電、汽車、影音，無不用日本的，連成龍也大嚷著中國貨會爆炸，買電器，一要買日本貨。不過成龍說得太激動，成了網上笑料。
日本貨雖然質素好，但用上手多有不便，特別是電子產品。日本人自負的優越感，對於自家發明的東西有份怪異的執著，就以DVD機為例，日本人在製作時，將影碟不同的制式分得井井有條，自以為是，所以不合該產品制式的DVD影碟，是不能播放的。滿以為用了一招 create dependence，令大家無法不跟著日本走時，Sony就給中國的「步步高」打得口青面腫。
中國的步步高，管它是什麼制式，即使是翻版影碟，一概不理，照播無誤。現在，香港各大酒店全都用了「步步高」，因為客人搞婚宴喜歡播放自家製的回憶片段，如用Sony，肯定遭殃。
太太從前送了一枝MP3機給我。要用MP3機聽歌，眾所周知，先將MP3歌曲檔從電腦傳送到MP3機上，才行，可是Sony的那枝MP3機不能這樣。要傳送歌曲檔，電腦必需先裝了Sony特製的程式，才可傳送，弄得非常麻煩，簡直脫褲子放屁，多此一舉。
不過說到底，今天不用日本貨，仍是要用日本貨。
this has been the argument between my mum and dad for years. My mum argued that Japanese products have guarantee compared with unknown branded products from China; my dad said Chinese companies are strong enough to produce cheaper products with same level of quality as the Japanese products. Frankly, one good (or you can call it as a scam) thing about China is that it is excellent is COPYING. All it has to do with the electronic products is that it copies the original ideas from other overseas companies which have spent years to come up with the innovative idea, then loosen the restrictions. You can see all the examples, like the i pad, or not the products, but websites like tudou (youtube). Is it a right thing or not? It all depends on which perspective you see. Afterall we are only consumers and we are only concerned about the quality and restrictions of goods we buy.
